An unidentified 19-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting near Belmont High School on Monday, authorities said.
The incident in front of an apartment building at 2nd and Witmer streets occurred just before 3 p.m., Police Lt. Robert Barker said. The man, who was not a student at the school, was hit at least twice in the buttocks, and was immediately put into a private car and driven away, he said.
Officers checked nearby medical facilities and finally located the victim at California Hospital. The victim, whose name was not released, was not seriously hurt, police said. Detectives were questioning him about the shooting.
