Eagle Completes Last Tuneup for America’s Cup
Eagle, the Newport Harbor Yacht Club’s entry in the America’s Cup, got into its final fine-tuning for the competition at Perth over the weekend.
After working on the boat Saturday, the crew sailed practice races against Steak ‘n’ Kidney, French Kiss and Canada II Sunday and Monday. There was rain Sunday, with winds from 10 to 15 knots, with lighter winds Monday.
The first round of match racing starts at 10 p.m. Saturday, PDT, 1 p.m. Sunday in Australia.
