Postal Construction Funds OKd

WASHINGTON — An $11.7-billion five-year capital improvement plan was approved today by the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors.
More than half--$7.2 billion--will be for building, remodeling and replacing postal buildings. The agency is trying to use standard plans for new buildings to speed their construction. Another $2.3 billion will be spent on automated sorting equipment.
