Orange League : Brea-Olinda Shuts Out Savanna
Brea-Olinda High School proved it is an Orange League title contender by soundly blanking Savanna, 26-0, Friday night at Brea.
The Wildcats’ (1-0, 3-3) defense shut down Savanna, limiting the Rebels to 43 yards rushing and 131 total yards. It was the second shutout in three weeks for the Wildcats.
Brea senior running back Mike Oziminski scored 2 touchdowns and gained 88 yards in 15 carries. He scored in the first quarter on a two-yard run and in the third on a one-yard run.
In the third quarter, the Wildcats’ defense got into the act. With the ball on the Brea 17-yard line, Sonora running back Tony Pearson fumbled and Brea defensive back Jason Miller picked it up at the 15 and returned it 85 yards for a touchdown.
