Mobile-Home Loan Disparities Criticized
We have lived in our mobile home for one year; the fixed interest rate on our loan is 13%. We have been trying to refinance, but find that mobile-home owners do not qualify for interest decreases comparable to owners of conventional homes.
I have contacted banks, savings & loans and my legislators to learn the reason for the rate differential. Our property tax is computed exactly as if our home were conventional. If our rate of taxation is comparable to conventional home taxation, it would be less painful if our interest rates were also comparable.
