A fiery head-on collision between a car and a van in Noti, Ore., killed seven people, and four people were injured in another vehicle that plowed into the burning van, officials said. In Clifford Township, Pa., five teen-agers died when their compact car ran off a road, struck a boulder and hit two trees before flipping into a drainage ditch and burning. The Oregon accident was caused when the driver of the car lost control of the vehicle on a curve, officials said. In Pennsylvania, police had not determined why the 16-year-old driver failed to make a sharp curve. No one survived the crash.
