St. Bonaventure Routs Oak Park, 36-6
Gene Scampone caught two touchdown passes, and Mike Luna ran for two more to lead St. Bonaventure High to 36-6 Tri-Valley League victory over winless Oak Park on Thursday at Ventura High.
Scampone’s touchdowns came within two minutes of each other in the first quarter as St. Bonaventure (3-5, 2-3 in league) built an early 18-6 lead. Scampone’s first reception covered 55 yards on St. Bonaventure’s first play from scrimmage.
Oak Park (0-7-1, 0-4-1) scored on its first possession of the game, marching 58 yards on six plays, capped by Chris Hall’s 12-yard scoring pass to Jason Ornstein. Hall completed 6 of 10 passes for 93 yards before he was knocked out of the game in the second quarter.
