Breeders’ Cup Steeplechase in Maryland

FAIR HILL, Md. — Favored Flatterer, Gacko and Turtle Head are expected to provide the early speed in the inaugural running of the $250,000 Breeders’ Cup Steeplechase today.
Gacko is one of two French representatives in the field of 12 that also includes single entries from Ireland, Great Britain and New Zealand.
The gruelling 2 3/8-mile race, contested over 16 jumps, will be televised nationally by NBC at about noon as part of the four-hour Breeders’ Cup show originating from Santa Anita.
