Highland Park : Museum Given $1 Million
The Southwest Museum has received a $1-million gift from the J. Paul Getty Trust as part of its drive to raise $5 million to augment its current $3.4-million endowment.
The museum is known primarily for its extensive collection of American Indian art and artifacts. It also features pre-Columbian pottery and textiles, decorative and folk arts, Western American paintings and a research library.
The museum will receive the $1 million over two years, with no restrictions.
