The driver of a car that rammed into a crowd on Fiesta Island pleaded guilty Wednesday to assault with a deadly weapon and drunk driving with injury.

Martin Stockert, 27, of Linda Vista could receive four years in state prison, Deputy Dist. Atty. Rupert Linley said.

San Diego Superior Court Judge J. Richard Haden set sentencing for Dec. 10. He dismissed four counts of attempted murder and three counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Six teen-agers were hurt after Stockert drove his car through a crowd partying on Fiesta Island after a San Diego Sports Arena rock concert on Sept. 13 in the early morning hours.

Daniel Bostic, 18, testified at Stockert’s preliminary hearing that Stockert made lewd gestures and remarks towards Bostic’s girlfriend, and Bostic then knocked Stockert down. Stockert then got in his car and drove wildly into the crowd.

Stockert remains in County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
