Charles, Diana See University in Oman
MUSCAT, Oman — Britain’s Prince Charles and Princess Diana drove past rugged mountains Wednesday to reach Sultan Kaboos University, Oman’s British-built educational showpiece.
They were shown a model of the university by its vice chancellor, Sheik Amor Marhoubi, and met faculty members and groups of Omani students in English-language laboratories and on the university grounds.
Princess Diana, in a pink and white, hand-painted linen print dress with a white linen collar, won some hearts when she sat by an ornamental pool with 25 young women students.
“She’s very kind; I love her. She’s wonderful,” 17-year-old Suad Uraimi said after speaking to the princess.
