Passage of Proposition 63
Now that the electorate has passed the initiative making English the official language of our state, will those same people who voted for it so resoundingly, demand that the governor and the Legislature now spend the millions of dollars necessary to hire teachers, buy instructional materials and provide classroom space for the vast number of immigrants who are only too eager to learn this “official language,” but to whom we have offered severely limited opportunities.
