Expansion Completed at Huntington Beach Mall
Saturday will mark the completion of the $9-million expansion and remodeling of the Huntington Center, 7777 Edinger Ave., Huntington Beach, according to the developers, the MacDonald Group, Century City.
The modernization program designed by Millard Archuleta AIA, Los Angeles, Bakersfield and Denver, includes 56,000 square feet of new tenant shops, an international food court and a Teflon roof system to cover the entire new two-level construction area.
“This project is part of a total corporate plan to update several of our 1960s-vintage shopping centers,” according to Charles Beecher of MacDonald. Mervyn’s, the new anchor tenant, opened October 17. The center encompasses 165,554 square feet.
Other new tenants include Intrigue Jewelers, Ashly Jewelers, Cinnamon Roll Fair, Deck the Walls, Lerner Woman, Payless Shoes and Spencer Gifts. Food court tenants include Dimattius Pizza & Pasta, Fuji’s Primo One Deli, Golden Spoon Yogurt, Beijing Express, M&M; Seafood and Mighty Muffin.
