San Diego
A 14-year-old San Diego boy was killed early Sunday when he was thrown from a car after it went out of control and left the roadway on Paradise Valley Road. Alton Taylor, of the 7800 block of Gribble Street, was pronounced dead at the scene, a coroner’s deputy said.
Two other teen-agers were injured in the accident, which occurred when the speeding car failed to make a turn on Paradise Valley Road near Munda Road, a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman said. The car’s driver, Andre Dickerson, 17, was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he was reported in stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said. A second passenger, identified only as an 18-year-old male was also at Mercy Hospital, but his condition was not known.
