Pioneer Award to Diahann Carroll

Diahann Carroll will receive the Brotherhood Crusade’s community service award at its annual Pioneer of Black Achievement award dinner Monday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The award goes to men and women who have enjoyed success in their chosen fields while maintaining a deep sense of commitment to their community. Previous recipients have included actor Louis Gossett, Jr., former U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young, Mayor Tom Bradley and musician Quincy Jones.
