Two prosecutors in the Ukraine have been fired for ordering the arrest and indictment of a wrter for the magazine Soviet Miner who criticized the work of their office, Pravda, the Communist Party daily newspaper reported. The prosecutors, A. F. Daragan and V. P. Shatalov, of the Voroshilovgrad region, ordered a criminal investigation of V. B. Berkhin, leading to a charge of malicious hooliganism--often used against dissidents and protesters. Pravda said Berkhin was released with an official apology.
