The FCC will study import restrictions.
The Federal Communications Commission began an inquiry to determine whether restrictions should be placed on imports of telecommunications equipment from countries that restrict similar imports from U.S. manufacturers. The FCC said the inquiry was prompted by concern that “U.S. telecommunications service providers and equipment manufacturers are not permitted to operate, or are not provided with a fair opportunity to compete, in a number of foreign markets.” They named no countries.
