For Readers and Writers, Here’s a Year of Best : Slip-Sliding Away
The Dodgers let Pedro Guerrero slide through spring training without putting out any real effort to get in shape for the season. He even leaves camp with management’s blessing and returns to the Dominican Republic for whatever reasons. All the while, Tommy Lasorda is trying to convince us he has not received any special attention.
Now, on a half-hearted attempt at a slide, Pedro puts himself out of action for three months. Seems like they got exactly what they deserved.
