‘I Liked it Better When’

I liked it better when:

Full-sized cars held six people . . . not five.

Gay meant cheerful or happy.

Substance abusers were drunks and drug addicts.

Senior citizens were old folks.

Environmental maintenance technologists were janitors, and sanitation engineers were garbage men.

Murderers went to the electric chair.

People who “misspoke themselves” or “enhanced” their resumes were called liars.

“Revenue enhancement” meant raising taxes.

Strawberry ice cream contained strawberries, and was made from cream.

Nurses had patients, not clients.

And best of all, I liked it when the President of the United States had a sign on his desk saying “The Buck Stops Here”!
