A Baldwin Park couple died and three people were injured when a pickup truck skidded out of control on icy U.S. 97 in Oregon and slid into an oncoming pickup, authorities reported. Klamath County sheriff’s deputies identified the victims as the driver, Robert Michael Worth Jr., 49, and his wife, Margaret, 43. Their daughter, Michelle Worth, 20, was in serious condition at a Klamath Falls hospital. Also hospitalized were the driver of the other vehicle, Rodney D. Land, 43, Chiloquin, Ore., who was in stable condition, and his passenger, Lori C. Land, 5, who was in serious condition, a nursing supervisor said. Deputies said the Worths died when their northbound pickup crossed into the southbound lane near Thunderbeast Park, about 42 miles north of Klamath Falls.
