Hype and Hoopla of the Super Bowl
I was repulsed by all the Super Bowl hype. I am embarrassed for our country. It’s depressing to think our society has degenerated to the point of making a football game equal to a royal wedding in England.
Our schools need money; our children rank below the children of other countries in their education, our homeless are freezing in the streets, and many don’t have food, but companies are paying $600,000 for a 30-second commercial during a football game.
I’ve been a “football widow” for 32 years and I’m glad--I think the whole thing is an insult to my intelligence.
