Rhythm-and-blues guitarist Bo Diddley will stage a pair of benefit concerts next week to bolster the slumping fortunes of Red Cliff, Colo.--pop. 400. Resident Mark Bell, a former harmonica player with Diddley’s band, persuaded the town to play host to the Feb. 19 concerts. Mayor Michael Salazar said he hopes that the concerts by the recent inductee to the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame raise enough to balance the town’s budget and help pay for paving its dirt streets.
