SATURDAY LETTERS : 1-NIGHT STANDARDS
When are TV writers and programmers who air the shows going to start becoming more responsible with regard to the content of their shows. I am referring to the recent “Moonlighting” episode involving Cybill Shepherd’s Maddie going out looking for a one-night stand.
With the AIDS epidemic so prevalent, I can’t believe they would have such a story line. And who should her one-night-stander turn out to be but Mark Harmon, late of “St. Elsewhere,” who’s character on that show, Dr. Bobby Caldwell, left for California after discovering he had AIDS from his promiscuous life style. If there’s a message there, I’m not sure what it is.
