Local News in Brief : Fire Guts Classroom at Sun Valley Junior High
Afire of suspicious origin at Sun Valley Junior High School gutted an unoccupied classroom and caused $30,000 in damage Saturday night, fire officials said.
The blaze, at 7330 Bakman Ave., started about 9:30 p.m. and burned 19 minutes before it was extinguished by firefighters, said Greg Acevedo, spokesman for the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
Arson investigators are investigating the fire, which caused no injuries, Acevedo said.
