Farm Belt Republicans proposed new developments to revitalize small towns and expand assistance to farm families. “As farm and community revenue continue to fall, the small towns that once characterized the heartland of our nation are fast disappearing,” said Rep. E. Thomas Coleman (R-Mo.), as he and other Republicans on the House Agriculture Committee unveiled their rural development package in Washington.
