Gardena : Cable Television Franchise
The City Council voted unanimously to transfer control of the city cable television franchise from Group W Cable to Paragon Communications, a partnership formed by American Television and Communications Corp. and Houston Industries Inc.
In a report to the council, City Manager Ken Landau said the Colorado-based firm owns and operates cable television systems under 129 franchises serving 500,000 subscribers in seven states.
