What are believed to be the last finished works by the late Andy Warhol--eight prints inspired by the writings of Hans Christian Andersen--went on display Thursday at a gallery in Odense, Denmark, the city where Andersen was born. Titled “The Hans Christian Series,” the serigraphic prints were made by Warhol using paper cutouts first planned by Andersen. Warhol approved the prints in November but did not sign them before he died Feb. 22 at 58, said a spokesman for Art Expo, a Danish art publishing firm. Each print bears a certificate ensuring its authenticity signed by Fred Hughes, director of the Warhol Corp. The prints will be sold for $5,000 each.
