Fire Damages Home: A man was slightly injured Monday when a spark ignited gas from a water heater pilot light, authorities said. Donald Vessels, 33, was fixing his jeep in the garage of his home in the 200 block of Carleton Avenue when the fire broke out at 1:50 p.m., an Anaheim Fire Department spokeswoman said. Vessels suffered only singed hair in the blaze, said Jill Skinner of the Fire Department’s investigations division, but the blaze spread quickly from the garage to the single-family home, causing an estimated $10,000 damage to the structure and $10,000 damage to contents, Skinner said. No injuries were reported. The fire was extinguished in about 20 minutes.
