Thousand Oaks Motorist Dies After Crashing Into Wall
A Thousand Oaks man was killed Monday when the pickup truck he was driving crashed into a concrete wall, the California Highway Patrol said.
Donald S. LaCasto, 62, was going north at about 50 m.p.h. on Las Virgenes Road in the Calabasas area about 5:40 a.m. when his vehicle started weaving, drifted off a dirt shoulder and crashed into the wall, said Officer Kenn Rosenberg.
LaCasto, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown against the steering wheel and struck his head on the windshield, Rosenberg said. Paramedics pronounced LaCasto dead at the scene.
