Philip, Thatcher Attend Ferry Victims Service

CANTERBURY, England — About 1,600 people--including the captain of the ill-fated Herald of Free Enterprise--attended a memorial service at Canterbury Cathedral today for the approximately 200 victims of last month’s Zeebrugge ferry disaster.
Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Prince Philip and Princess Anne joined relatives and friends of the dead and survivors in an emotional ceremony led by Archbishop of Canterbury Robert A. K. Runcie.
