The Region : Burning Van Holds Body
The body of an unidentified man was found in Anaheim by firefighters called to put out a vehicle fire, authorities said. Firefighters discovered the body, identified only as that of a Latino, in a van parked in an alley in the rear of a home in the 1300 block of West Lynne Avenue, Anaheim Police Sgt. Fred Roush said. The death was being investigated as a possible homicide pending results of an autopsy that may rule out foul play, Roush said. “We don’t know if he was smoking in the van and something caught fire or what happened for sure. We won’t know until an autopsy is completed,” he said. The man’s identity was not known late Sunday, Roush said. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner’s office declined to release preliminary autopsy results, referring all questions to Anaheim police.
