Santa Ana : Councilman Hart, Wife Make Switch to the GOP
City Councilman Wilson B. Hart, saying his philosophy more closely resembles that of the Republican Party, was welcomed into the GOP fold Monday with ceremonies at the Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel in Costa Mesa.
Hart, 40, who was first elected to the council in 1984, and his wife, Susan, changed their voter registration from Democrat to Republican during a ceremony organized by the Republican Central Committee of Orange County.
“This action is not something I take lightly,” Hart said. “I have agonized over this move for months. I have determined that during my adult life I have always been a Republican.”
