Penn Accused of Parole Violation
Less than two months after actor Sean Penn was placed on one-year probation resulting from an altercation, he is being accused of violating the court order by allegedly hitting an extra on a Los Angeles movie set.
A bench warrant was issued Friday for the 26-year-old actor’s arrest, but it will be held until May 1 to give Penn a chance to surrender, said Ted Goldstein, spokesman for the city attorney’s office.
The incident occurred April 2 in the Venice area on the set of “Colors” when movie extra Jeffrey Klein, 32, of Costa Mesa took some photos of Penn and co-star Robert Duvall while they were relaxing, according to Goldstein, whose office filed a notice of probation violation against the actor.
Penn allegedly began yelling, cursing and spitting at Klein. Klein spat back, and then Penn allegedly punched Klein several times before witnesses pulled him off.
