Safety on Laguna Canyon Road
John Lara should be the recipient of the First Annual Common-Sense award for creating awareness of the dangers of driving on Laguna Canyon Road. The crosses he placed to symbolize more than 30 fatalities in recent years and the related story (April 12) said two important things:
John cares enough about people he has never even met to do something about an unsafe condition
We are in a system where environmental concerns over “cutting too deeply into the hills” have a priority over the health and safety of human beings.
Thanks, John, for caring. And for the reminder that our priorities are, or at least should be, up for re-examination.
