According to authorities, Fick was traveling north at 70 m.p.h. on Kanan Road south of Triunfo Canyon Road in Agoura Hills at about 1:15 a.m. Fick tried to avoid hitting a slower-moving vehicle but lost control of the car on a dirt shoulder and ran into the culvert.
