GOIN’ HOLLYWOOD: OK, listen up, Dudes! What could be hipper than scoring an invite to a barbecue at Dweezil Zappa’s house, hanging with the stars at the “Dragnet ‘87” premiere party, going to stunt man’s school and dishing with Brat Pack gossip-hounds, the Hollywood Kids? Those are just a few of the pit stops MTV will be making on its upcoming “Movie Week” in Los Angeles. The 24-hour video channel will be here in mid-June, taping 35 hours’ worth of Hollywood scene-making events and location footage to air on MTV from June 22-28. As always, the on-location event is tied to a nutty promotion, this one titled “MTV’s Movie Mogul Contest.”

The grand-prize winner receives a 10-day stay at an MTV Beverly Hills mansion, plus such Tinseltown treats as a rented Porsche (supplemented with a 50-foot limousine, complete with Jacuzzi), a power lunch with Carl Reiner, a private workout with Jake, Hollywood star trainer, a $10,000 Rodeo Drive shopping spree and (gasp!) a customized casting couch (batteries not included). MTV’s even hired a Hollywood director (still unannounced) to make a three-minute film, which will air during “Movie Week.”

And what does Hollywood get out of all this? A chance to plug its summer movies, of course. A host of stars will be on hand as guest veejays, each--surely by coincidence--of whom has a new film due out momentarily. Celebs will include Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks (“Dragnet ‘87”), Arnold Schwarzenegger (“Predator”), Los Lobos (“La Bamba”) and Mark Harmon (“Summer School”). Don’t be surprised if one of the crew doesn’t get an offer to stay on full-time. MTV has announced that its last two original veejays--Alan Hunter and Mark Goodman--are departing in July for greener pastures (Goodman is moving to L.A. to start an acting career), though both may still do occasional projects with the video network. MTV isn’t expected to name replacements till later this year.
