Two men died in a head-on collision in Paramount involving a hit-and-run driver, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department reported. Deputy Pete Fosselman said Blas Navrete Ortega, 25, of Lynwood, and his passenger, Marco Antonio Valdez, 22, of Bell Gardens, were killed when a car jumped a center divider on Rosecrans Avenue near Paramount Boulevard and crashed into their eastbound car. Witnesses reported that two men leaped from the other car and ran away before deputies arrived.
