The widow and two children of a man run over by a Southern California Rapid Transit District bus filed suit against the RTD and the bus driver for unspecified damages. Mary Ann Lovejoy of Culver City said in the Los Angeles Superior Court complaint that her husband, John, was being struck and robbed by an unknown assailant at 8th and Spring streets in downtown Los Angeles late at night last September and that he attempted to escape by boarding the bus. The bus driver, Joseph Jenious Jr., allegedly refused to allow Lovejoy to enter, pulling away. Lovejoy’s jacket apparently became caught in the bus door, said attorney Richard Pellegrino. He was knocked down and his head was crushed by the bus wheels.
