The National Hockey League’s Board of Governors...
The National Hockey League’s Board of Governors postponed hearing the Kings’ appeal of fines levied in the Pat Quinn conflict-of-interest case in Detroit. The Kings are asking that their fine of $130,000 be rescinded or reduced.
The Kings were fined $10,000 for every day they knew that Quinn, then under contract as their coach, had signed another contract to become president and general manager of the Vancouver Canucks while still under contract to the Kings.
The board agreed to hear the appeal at its next meeting in the fall. The Kings have yet to pay any of the fine.
