A Newark policeman shot and killed a 105-pound mixed-breed German shepherd after the animal charged at him, officials reported. According to Sgt. Don Skipper, Officer Keith Plamandon was attempting to serve two arrest warrants at a house in the Alameda County city when the dog attacked. The dog had no tags and so the owner was not identified.
