County health authorities still have not determined the cause of an apparent outbreak of food poisoning during a statewide children’s beauty pageant in Fresno. Lou Dooley, Fresno County environmental health officer, said 39 of 83 people who attended the Our Little Miss Pageant at the Hacienda Resort and Convention Center fell ill to sometimes-violent flu symptoms. Officials were trying to reach about 600 participants throughout the state who might have become ill after the event, held between June 28 and July 5.
