Edward Woodward of CBS-TV’s “The Equalizer” continues to improve at a Warwick, England, hospital after suffering a mild heart attack. It turns out that the British actor, 57, nominated for an Emmy Thursday for his performances as ex-CIA operative McCall in the popular show, was advised by doctors earlier this year to stop working so hard. Hospital administrator Malcolm Norton said Woodward was in comfortable condition Thursday after “a general, slight improvement overnight,” but declined to say when Woodward would be allowed home. A CBS spokesman noted “The Equalizer” does not begin shooting again until Aug. 27, but might be delayed should Woodward’s doctors decide he needs more rest.
