A 19-year-old self-proclaimed Nazi was under arrest in San Jose for allegedly taking part in a racial attack on a black woman. United Press International said Mark Tipton admitted in a jail interview that he and his friends harassed the victim, but he claimed that they did not touch her. The 54-year-old woman, a summer school teacher, said a group of young men with shaved heads grabbed her while she was walking her dog. She said they demanded money, saying, “Niggers pay toll.” They also threatened to hang her from a tree, she told police.
