ARC Mid-Valley Gains Semifinals With 101-74 Win
Six players scored in double figures as American Roundball Corp.’s Mid-Valley team defeated Las Vegas, 101-74, in a quarterfinal game Thursday at the Las Vegas Invitational basketball tournament at Nevada Las Vegas.
The victory advanced Mid-Valley into a semifinal game this morning against Virginia, which defeated defending tournament champion New York in another quarterfinal game.
Chris Mills led Mid-Valley with 22 points. Don MacLean had 14 points, Shawn Kemp added 13 and James Moses, Doug Meekins and Sean Woods each scored 12.
“We played team ball,” Mid-Valley Coach Rich Goldberg said. “Every game has been like that. That’s why we win.”
Virginia is led by Alonzo Mourning, a 6-10 center who is considered the top high school prospect in the nation.
