Israeli Prime Minister Plans Visit to Romania

TEL AVIV — Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir will visit Romania in the next few weeks for talks on Middle East peace with President Nicolae Ceausescu, a Shamir aide said Saturday.
Romania is the only East Bloc country that has diplomatic ties with Israel.
The trip comes amid increasing signs that the Soviet Union wants a thaw in its ties with the Jewish state and a role in an international conference on Middle East peace.
