Seven Ventura Star-Free Press employees were arrested on drug-related warrants, ending a five-month police undercover probe begun at the request of the newspaper’s management. Officers raided the press room, circulation department and mail room, arresting four men on suspicion of selling cocaine and one man on suspicion of selling marijuana. Two men were arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of cocaine, police said. The investigation was requested by the newspaper after Ron Spurr, the business manager, was told by an employee’s father that drug dealing was occurring at the plant.
