A Lebanese soldier seeking asylum in Sweden was arrested in connection with the assassination of Lebanese Premier Rashid Karami, police said. The 25-year-old suspect was asleep at a government refugee camp near Motala, southwest of Stockholm, at the time of his arrest. Although the soldier was not identified by name, the description matched that contained in an international warrant issued Thursday by the Lebanese government seeking the arrest of Pvt. Elie Salibi for the premier’s murder. Karami was killed June 1 when a bomb exploded under his seat during a helicopter trip from Tripoli to Beirut.
