El Toro Team Wins Soccer Tournament
A team from El Toro scored a 2-0 victory over Tucson Sunday in the championship of the girls’ 16-and-up division of the Ken Aston Cup soccer tournament at the Mission Viejo Lake Youth Athletic Field.
Fresno defeated Downey, 1-0, to win the boys’ 16-and-up championship. Fresno also won the boys’ 14-15 division with a 3-0 victory over Ontario.
La Palma defeated Pacific Palisades, 6-2, to win the girls’ 14-15 division.
The three-day tournament featured 76 teams from California, Arizona and Texas.
