West Hollywood : Engineering Aide Honored
Resident Charles Campbell has been awarded the county Department of Public Works’ Valor Award for 1987.
On May 19, 1986, Campbell spotted two children in an unattended car that was rolling into a busy intersection in East Los Angeles. Campbell drove his car into the path of the runaway vehicle, preventing it from reaching the intersection.
The annual award is given to a county employee. Campbell, a senior civil engineering assistant, was given an engraved plaque by Supervisor Ed Edelman at a ceremony last week.
