BACK-TO-BACK BEATTY
OK, Warren, what’s it gonna be?
Sources close to Warren Beatty say that he’s going to announce his next film plans “any day now.” Will it be his long-in-the-works Howard Hughes project or his long-in-the-works “Dick Tracy”?
Beatty plans to star in both. Will he direct? His attorney Bert Fields related: “It is entirely possible. We just don’t know yet.”
Of the Hughes project, Fields waxed poetic: “It could be one of the outstanding films of all time. It’s got excitement, adventure, humor, pathos. It’s a very trenchant commentary on our life and society.”
Beatty’s got a third project awaiting--one that’s “highly commercial.” Fields wouldn’t reveal the title (“It’s a secret”), though he assured us it isn’t “Ishtar II.”
